Tasty Tuesday

I usually always make bon-bons during the holidays. I used to make these all the time:

Peanut Butter Balls

1/2 lb. butter, melted
24 oz. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 bar parafin

Put peanut butter in mixing bowl. Pour butter over and mix well. Add powderes guar and mix well. Shape into balls on wax paper. Place in fridge and chill 1 hr. Melt chips and parafin in double broiler. Put toothpicks in balls and dip in chocolate. (Keep the chocolate warm & stir at all times. Turn it down really low.) Place on wax paper and chill.

They are delicious! But then I found this next recipe, they are a lot simpler and still really tasty:

Nutter Butter Balls

1 pkg. Nutter Butters, crushed into sand-like consistancy
8 oz cream cheese, softened

Mix together. Roll into balls. Freeze for 15 minutes. In microwave safe bowl, put Chocolate Almond Bark and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. Cook 30 seconds and stir, continue until melted. Dip balls into chocolate.

I always make those, and some with Oreo's. They're also delicious with a Red Velvet Cake, baked according to package directions, crumbled, then mixed with cream cheese. I like them dipped in white chocolate. Have fun with this recipe! I'm sure the possibilities are almost endless!

Life...

Life has been very crazy and interesting! Between the twins (who are now getting too close to 3 to suit my fancy!) getting into mischief, spending time with our church family, doing a bit of travelling, and keeping the house clean for showings...it's been crazy around here!

Weekend before last, we went to my parents on Thursday night. Friday, Mom, the kids and I just hung around the house. While Dad and Will went fishing and Lindsay and Samuel went to their marriage finance class. Then Friday night, we left Daddy and Uncle Samuel in charge of the twins, while Papa, Nana, Sissy and I went to see Kings of Leon in concert! It was so fun! The concert was great, they really put on a good show! I was appalled at the people there though. Women dressed so immodestly...they couldn't even walk without having to hold their skirt down! Men were spouting off more cursing than I've ever heard in my life! I don't know if I'm just old in a young person's body or what...but I was embarrassed by their actions. But I just tried to ignore them (as best as I could), enjoy the show and time with my family. Saturday, Lindsay had to work and Samuel had some guy time planned with his buddies, so the rest of us went to a company picnic that Dad's work was having. It was fun! Then Saturday night, River came over and Daddy fixed us a birthday dinner (My birthday is the 31st of March and her's is the 4th of April) Sunday, we got up early and went to meet with the Harrison congregation. It was so much fun to see them and spend a little time with them! We had services, ate lunch, then took the kids to plat at the park while we visited.

I've had a lot of people ask me how I'm doing after my miscarriage. It's hard still. I have a hard time when I find out anyone is pregnant, or having a baby. I just don't look at the pictures they put on Facebook...it's too hard. I am happy for people, but it just reminds me of what I lost. I'm just ready to have another baby....and terrified at the same time! I know when/if I find out I'm expecting again, it will be hard. I'm excited about it, but since I've been through it twice now, I'm scared silly!!! Please continue to pray for us!

This past Saturday, I attended my first Weight Watcher's meeting. I'm tired of feeling like a fat blob, so I decided to do something about it! All in all, I have about 21 lbs I want to lose. It's been great so far. Pretty easy to figure out the points for things, and stick with it. Of course, Saturday and Sundays are hard days...why does everyone bring such good food to Sunday potluck? ha! So I went over my daily points and had to use a few of my weekly extras. But yesterday, I did perfectly! I ate exactly the 29 points I was supposed to, and felt full! I weighed myself yesterday, and I've already lost a pound! So just 20 more to go!

This morning, while the kids and I were having our morning cuddles, Meredith suddenly jumped up and said, "Let's dance, Momma!" Then asked me to sing the "lalala" song (aka. Smurf theme song) So there I was singing "lalala" while she was skipping & dancing around the living room.

Seth enjoys "swimming" around the house...scooting himself on his tummy. lol  My kids know just how to make me laugh!

They continue to be the CUTEST and most HILARIOUS kids on earth! I'm so thankful that God placed them in my arms! :)

I guess that's about it...the kids are asking for some "pink" and "chLOClate" milk...lol (aka...strawberry and chocolate.) So I better go get that fixed for them!

"Blessings"

As I have blogged about before, I have just gone through my 2nd miscarriage. It's been hard. But these couple of songs have really helped. I hope they help you in your trials and tribulations that you are going through. This first song, "Blessings" by Laura Story has especially helped me.

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things

(Chorus)
'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if the thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

Chorus

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home

Chorus

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise

Weak and wounded sinner,
Lost and left to die,
O, raise your head for Love is passing by

Come to Jesus,
Come to Jesus,
Come to Jesus and live

Now your burden's lifted,
And carried far away,
And precious blood has washed away the stain... so

Sing to Jesus ,
Sing to Jesus ,
Sing to Jesus and live

And like a newborn baby,
Don't be afraid to crawl,
And remember when you walk sometimes we fall... so

Fall on Jesus,
Fall on Jesus,
Fall on Jesus and live

Sometimes the way is lonely,
And steep and filled with pain,
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain... then

Cry to Jesus,
Cry to Jesus,
Cry to Jesus and live

O, and when the love splills over,
And music fills the night,
And when you can't contain you joy inside... then

Dance for Jesus,
Dance for Jesus,
Dance for Jesus and live

And with your final heartbeat,
Kiss the world goodbye,
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side... and

Fly to Jesus,
Fly to Jesus,
Fly to Jesus and live

Fly to Jesus,
Fly to Jesus,
Fly to Jesus and live

If you haven't read this book, be sure to check it out. I just started it...I'm in the middle of the 3rd chapter. I'm already feeling blessed because of this book. I am excited to finish the book, and plan on blogging more about the it.

I'm amazed at how God takes care of things...I've been so down and depressed. But because of some studies with some of my good friends, I've quit listening to some of the music I did before. Now, I listen to pretty much only Christian music. K-Love is my favorite!!! And about the time I start listening to it, Laura Story comes out with that BEAUTIFUL song, Blessings. I think I see God's finger prints! I find myself moved to tears on many occasions by amazing lyrics to beautiful songs, by the stories people share, and by the love that the DJ's have for their work.

Do you feel God working in your life? Do you feel Him trying to tell you that you need to change something? I'm feeling him constantly in my life right now. My faith is so weak. But I'm trying my hardest to just "Let Go and Let God." I encourage you to do the same!!!

God bless you.

Homestead Revival

I've started following a really cool blog called Homestead Revival. They're doing an awesome giveaway right now!!! Click here to check it out!!!

Will and I are planning on homeschooling the twins, and I'd love to "get back to our roots" and learn how to do stuff like this. We take so many things for granted. If I'm out of butter, yogurt, etc., I just run to the grocery store and buy those things. I've been studying in Proverbs 31, and I want to teach my daughter how to be more like Her, and teach my son how to be prepared and deserving of a wife like that. What a great way to bring Her more to life than to learn to make our own dairy products!

Be sure to check out the giveaway...leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Long time, No post...

I haven't posted in a while, simply because I haven't felt like it. A few weeks ago, on a Friday night (not long after I posted about being pregnant), I ended up in the ER for severe abdominal pain. Come to find out it was a cyst on my ovary. While we were there, they decided to do an ultrasound. The baby was only measuring 4 weeks, when I should have been 7. I was put on bedrest for the weekend. The following Monday, I went to see my Dr. He had them do another ultrasound and the baby hadn't grown at all. We knew then that the baby was dead. So it was a waiting game...every other day I would go in to get my hCG and progesterone levels checked. The day after, I would get the results that my levels were rising, just not high enough for a healthy pregnancy. It is an understatement to say it was a roller coaster ride.

Because my numbers kept rising, we were worried about an ectopic pregnancy. It's pretty rare to have a fetus in the uterus as well as in the tubes, but it can happen... Needless to say, I was a basket case. Finally, this past Saturday, the miscarriage process actually started. It was terrible!!! So incredibly painful!!! I went back to the Dr on Monday, but my numbers weren't dropping!? So yesterday we went back again. I was in bad pain and terrified at the thought of an ectopic pregnancy. So, besides getting my levels checked again yesterday, I talked to a Dr. All seemed well. Then I got home and had some problems...my pain got worse. I called the Dr again and he said that it was probably just from my body trying to finish the miscarriage. But to be on the safe side, for me to take it easy for a couple of days...rest and drink plenty of water. I'm feeling better now. Still in pain, but feeling some better.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the prayers, visits, food, and cards that I have received through this long last few weeks. :) You have been simply wonderful!!!
